How to cook a hard boiled egg

In this recipe, I am going to go over the steps to make the perfect har boiled eggs every time.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 6 Eggs
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 cups ice

Instructions

  • Place eggs into a pot. Make sure that the eggs are not overcrowded.
  • Add COLD water until you have filled the pot just above the eggs (about 4 cups). Cover with a lid.
  • Place the pot on the stove on high heat and bring to a boil.
  • Once the water is boiling set your timer for 7-8 minutes and then take the pot off the heat.
  • In a bowl add 4 cups of cold water and 2 cups of ice, creating an ice bath.
  • Using a slotted spoon take out one egg at a time and place it into the ice bath. Once all of the eggs are in the ice bath, allow them to cool for 5-10 minutes
  • Remove the eggs from the ice bath and store them the fridge for up to 7 days.
