Ingredients

  • 1 Ripe banana

Instructions

  • Choose ripe bananas: Select bananas with a few brown spots, as they are sweeter and easier to mash once thawed.
  • Peel the bananas: Remove the peels from the bananas and discard them.
  • Cut the bananas: If desired, slice the bananas into smaller pieces. This step can make it easier to measure and use the bananas in recipes later on.
  • Lay the bananas flat on a baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Place the banana pieces in a single layer, making sure they don't touch each other.
  • Freeze the bananas: Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 1-2 hours, or until the banana pieces are completely frozen.
  • Transfer the bananas to a freezer bag: Once the bananas are frozen, quickly transfer them to a resealable freezer bag. Label the bag with the date and contents.
  • Remove air from the bag: Press out as much air as possible from the bag before sealing it. This helps prevent freezer burn and keeps the bananas fresh for longer.
  • Store the bananas in the freezer: Keep the sealed bag in the freezer for up to 6 months.
